Cookies and web beacons are often used for profiling purposes. <\/li><li><strong>Reach measurement:<\/strong> Reach measurement (also known as web analytics) is used to analyze visitor traffic to an online platform and can include an assessment of visitors\u2019 behavior or interests regarding specific information, such as website content. With the help of reach analysis, website owners can, for example, determine at what times visitors access their website and what content interests them. This allows them, for example, to better tailor the website\u2019s content to the needs of their visitors. For the purposes of reach analysis, pseudonymous cookies and web beacons are frequently used to identify returning visitors and thus obtain more accurate analyses of the use of an online offering.   <\/li><li><strong>Remarketing:<\/strong> One speaks of \u201cremarketing\u201d or \u201cretargeting\u201d when, for example, for advertising purposes, it is noted which products a user has been interested in on a website, in order to remind the user of these products on other websites, e.g. in advertisements.<\/li><li>Location data: Location data is created when a mobile device (or other device with the technical requirements of a location determination) connects to a radio cell, a WLAN or similar technical mediators and functions of location determination. Location data is used to indicate the geographically determinable position on earth at which the respective device is located.
